Clinical director of the MedAustron Particle Therapy Center

Carola Lütgendorf-Caucig is currently the Clinical Director at the MedAustron Ion Therapy Center in Austria, where she also serves as Director of Pediatric and CNS Particle Therapy, as well as Head of the Clinical Study Team. Prior to this, she worked as a radiation oncologist at the University Clinic of Radiation Therapy at the Medical University of Vienna/Vienna General Hospital (AKH).

She completed her medical studies at the University of Vienna and Humboldt University of Berlin, residencies at the SMZ-Süd Vienna and New Medical Center in Damascus, Syria, and specialized in radiation oncology at the Medical University of Vienna/AKH and SMZ-Süd Vienna.

In addition to her medical training, Dr. Lütgendorf-Caucig holds a Master of Public Health, an MBA in Health Care Management and has a diploma in palliative care. She specializes in CNS and pediatric tumors, played a key role in establishing the pediatric program at MedAustron and serves as the national reference radiation oncologist for international pediatric studies. She is also a certified principal investigator.
Dr. Lütgendorf-Caucig is also active in academia, teaching at the Karl Landsteiner University and the Medical University of Vienna, and has been instrumental in developing the educational programs at MedAustron.
